Pro Bono Work: strengthening our commitment to the community
The Mitrani Caballero team has always devoted part of its time and resources to providing free legal services to those who need them most. The initiatives carried out throughout 2025 allowed us to further deepen this path we have followed since our beginnings. In this way, we consolidated Pro Bono work as a cornerstone of our professional practice, focusing our efforts on projects that expand access to justice, strengthen civil society organizations, and support impact-driven ventures.
“Each case is an alliance with the community, where we place our knowledge at the service of real and lasting impact. In doing so, we reaffirm a commitment that inspires us to build, together with others, a more just and inclusive society,” said Carlos Trogolo, partner who leads the firm’s Pro Bono Program together with Mercedes Rodríguez Giavarini.
In February 2025, we joined the Pro Bono Commission of the Buenos Aires City Bar Association, which was recently declared of public interest by the Buenos Aires City Legislature. This Commission is a large network that brings together leading law firms and in-house legal departments in Argentina to ensure efficient access to justice for vulnerable individuals and communities, contributing to the construction of a better country through the practice of law. By joining as members, we were able to expand the reach of our work.
“It was deeply valuable to create and strengthen new ties with colleagues who, like us, embrace the purpose of contributing time, knowledge, and energy to causes with social impact. Building these relationships strengthened us as a purpose-driven professional network, inspired us to rethink collaborative ways of working, and gave us the certainty that together we can go further,” reflected Yamila Di Martino, Senior Associate and Coordinator of the Pro Bono Program.
Our first project as members of the Commission was an environmental research initiative coordinated by the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice, in collaboration with the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment (GRI) at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Professionals from Mitrani Caballero contributed their experience in this field and worked side by side with other law firms from Argentina and across the region.
Our Actions Throughout the Year
-
We represented a mother in a filiation action to establish the paternity of her 10-year-old daughter.
-
Throughout the year, we provided legal assistance at the Commission’s free legal clinic, offering general legal advice and support on health-related matters, as well as working on the ground to broaden our reach.
-
We advised Hogar San Francisco on its incorporation as a cooperative for individuals experiencing addiction and homelessness; assisted Asociación Civil Canales with the registration of newly appointed authorities; and advised Undood on its application for income tax exemption.
-
We served as first-round jurors in the “Pro Bono Challenge,” an academic competition that encourages law students to generate real social impact.
-
We joined a cybercrime prevention project and trained lawyers to deliver workshops on bullying, cyberbullying, grooming, and sharenting for children, adolescents, and responsible adults.
-
We advised and supported two mothers in claims against health insurance providers due to the lack of coverage for their children with disabilities.
-
We supported the “Route to the Future” program led by Iveco Argentina for young people in situations of social vulnerability in Córdoba.
“Collaborating in the free legal clinic and engaging with underserved neighborhoods gave me the opportunity to directly assist individuals who lack the resources to face legal challenges. This work highlighted the transformative impact my professional role can have when focused on service and social commitment,” said Associate Sabrina Panichi.
Her words reflect how these initiatives not only transform the lives of those we assist, but also enrich the entire Mitrani Caballero team. We thank the firm’s professionals who dedicated their time to these causes and invite them to redouble their efforts in 2026 to continue supporting those who need it most.
