We implemented a new family-focused framework to support our team

We reviewed and updated our maternity policy to strengthen the support we provide to all members of Mitrani Caballero in their life projects. This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting inclusion and gender equity at the firm.

The new framework is designed to balance caregiving and family life with work responsibilities. To that end, it offers a range of options so that parents—whether birth or adoptive—can continue their professional development.

The main innovation is a soft landing model, designed to support the return to work. It provides flexibility during a child’s first year of life. During this period, mothers may choose a 6-hour part-time schedule in on-site, remote, or hybrid formats.

After that first year, the firm offers women lawyers four options to support caregiving through their children’s 12th birthday:

  • Full-time with reduced hours in a hybrid format
  • Full-time, fully remote
  • Part-time with reduced hours in a hybrid format
  • Part-time, fully remote

A key feature of the framework is that those who choose flexible work arrangements can remain involved in tasks and projects of similar complexity to those they handled before becoming mothers. In this way, we ensure their careers are not interrupted.

Fathers are entitled to a special leave of 14 consecutive days from the date of birth or adoption. Depending on each case, remote work may be arranged after that period.

This new family-focused framework is another step in our ongoing effort to build a workplace that values and respects the different stages of life of everyone at Mitrani Caballero.
