The First Female President of COPAL Shared Her Experience at Women at Mitrani Caballero
We invited Carla Martín Bonito to participate in the space we designed to promote female leadership in the legal field. In an inspiring talk, she shared her journey to becoming the first female president of the Coordinadora de las Industrias de Productos Alimenticios (COPAL) and spoke about the challenges women face in traditionally male-dominated environments.
COPAL is a federal entity that brings together 34 sectoral chambers from the food and beverage industry, representing a universe of 14,500 companies across the country. Carla Martín Bonito assumed the presidency over a year ago, after serving as the organization’s executive director.
Her presentation followed the “first-person stories” format, where speakers share with the team the opportunities they have found in their careers, the obstacles they have had to overcome, and the strategies they implemented to succeed. The goal is for participants to gain tools from these stories to empower themselves professionally.
“It was a privilege to have Carla as a guest at the firm, as well as other leaders from various industries who shared their perspectives and experiences. The contributions of each of them inspire us to shape, give meaning to, and strengthen the Women at Mitrani Caballero program,” said Carolina Villar and Andrea Schiavone, organizers of the event.
We created this initiative in line with our commitment to equity in the legal field and our adherence to the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) of UN Women. Since its launch, it has been a key space for fostering dialogue and learning among the firm’s women lawyers.
We thank Carla Martín Bonito and all the participants who made this latest event so enriching.
