Women at Mitrani Caballero: Closing the year with a powerful women’s roundtable
We held the final 2025 Women at Mitrani Caballero gathering of the cycle designed to strengthen female leadership within the legal profession. On this occasion, partners from different practice areas were invited to reflect on their career paths, the challenges they encountered along the way, and the strategies they implemented to overcome them.
“Through Women at Mitrani, we promote the professional development of all women at the firm through mentoring, peer learning and inspiring role models, empowering them to face challenges with confidence. Together, we gain momentum and open opportunities for everyone. The results speak for themselves: one of the highest proportions of women partners among Latin American firms and the highest among leading firms in Argentina, with 48% women partners, achieving merit-based parity,” said Damiana Ponferrada, Director of Business Development.
During the session, Aixa Sureda, Rita Payarola, Mercedes Rodríguez Giavarini, Mariana Ardizzone and Gloria Gurbista brought this collaborative model to life. Moderated by Carolina Villar and Andrea Schiavone, the discussion focused on the most challenging moments of their careers, as well as on the opportunities available to new generations that did not exist in the past.
“This is a space where each of us takes responsibility not only for advancing our own careers, but also for supporting the growth of others, thereby contributing to the development of the firm as a whole,” said Mercedes Rodríguez Giavarini following the meeting. The partners also discussed how to identify opportunities that are not always explicitly visible and shared advice for those currently building their paths toward becoming leaders in their respective fields.
The Women at Mitrani Caballero cycle is one of the initiatives aligned with our commitment to gender equality and with our adherence to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs). Since its inception, it has become a cornerstone for fostering the professional development of our women lawyers and strengthening a supportive network among colleagues.
“I strongly believe in the importance of supporting and making female talent visible. Spaces like this allow us to reflect, share experiences and continue driving the development of women both within and beyond the firm,” said Aixa Sureda.
We thank everyone who made Women at Mitrani Caballero possible throughout 2025. Next year, we will continue to develop further initiatives to build a more inclusive and equitable professional environment.
